About Melinda Dare Benfield
My passion for art came naturally from both sides of my family tree. However, most of my early inspiration and training came from my father who was gifted in many media. I also acquired a keen interest in history, anthropology, archaeology, and nature from my father. For me, art is a way of exploring the wide and diverse world and expressing myself within it. As a result, I work with a variety of media in a diverse number of styles, often simultaneously. Unfortunately, my curiosity and diverse interests often means that many pieces of art get left incomplete...or that I end up finishing pieces years after I began them. It also means that I have a tendency to dabble in experimental methods, materials, or subjects...

You might want to try shooting later in afternoon 5-8 or between 7-9:30 am (golden hour) when the light is not so harsh, and then your shots are not over exposed. Also, use A (aperture setting) shooting mode, if you have a dslr camera instead of automatic. Good use of negative space on this and I bet the roses look and smelled fantastic.
