Description
This is an attempt at a portrait of my friend's one-year-old grandson as a retirement gift. The lad's father, my friend's son, is a fireman with the Cincinnati Fire Department so the pose and toys are meant to make this as personal as possible. I only had a couple of days....a few hours a day...to pull this together and while the face is very similar to that of her grandson it shows I desperately need to work on my portraiture skills. I also notice that I got the lads right eye (one on the left) is a little off giving him a slightly cross-eyed look that he does not actually have. I hope my friend likes it anyway as I no longer have time to try again.
Otherwise, it makes for a generally cute image, which I guess makes it successful as a piece of artwork for decorating a child's room or something. Know any children who are into Firetrucks? Maybe the Cincinnati Fire Department would want it for a poster. By the way, the Cincinnati Fire Department claims to be the first in the nation...established in 1853.
