Description
The Circle of Life (re-uploaded version) was drawn in 2005 and is a prelude to my Cultural Zoo series. It was inspired by work recovered from the archaeological Scythian burials as well Celtic, Saxon, and Viking art I had seen. It depicts the struggle for survival between a lioness and a stag. For the Scythians, the antlers of the stag often were associated with the tree of life and the circular format was chosen to represent the cyclical nature of life and death in the natural world.

Thank you so much Shijun. This one is an oldie but a goodie. I often refer to it as my LOGO even though I have never used it as such. I am thinking of adding watercolor to it.....just to see if I can push it to a new level.
