Description
This is a photograph of an acrylic on canvas painting. Color veracity is not as good as when I scan my paintings, but the canvas is way too big for the scanner surface and too rigid to be scanned in segments. I will explore other ways to capture an image of this painting and "correct" as soon as I can. UPDATE: I retook the photo of this painting in slightly different light which has greatly improved the color veracity. Still Not perfect, but a lot closer. There are some metallic colors mixed into areas like the birds' wings, which are of course flat in this image.
In the meantime, this is a painting of my overly pampered fur-baby in the guise of a conquering Roman emperor. I was inspired by his regal baring which often rises to the level of lovable silliness, and a trip I took to Rome a couple years back. I actually began sketching some ideas for this painting a year and a half ago, but really didn't have time/work space to pursue it until now. His ears really are large and expressive, but the right ear in this painting is a tiny bit too big....I may rework it. Also, Sammy does not have a tail, and does have different colored eyes (heterochromia.)
Painting in acrylics is very new to me in that this is really only my third attempt ever, and my first attempt at painting with a pallet knife (sky and stonework.)

Thank you, Viktor. I need to figure out how to capture the true colors of this painting.....the method I used infused a bit more light blue than is really there.

Thank you Genevieve. There's a photo defect (dark patch) in this image I still haven't figured out how to correct and it is more deeply blue in this photo than it is in reality....but I do like this painting of my silly kitty.
